Missed Opportunity?
Greg Abbott said the US Supreme Court ruling on birthright citizenship was a “missed opportunity”. That is like an umpire looking for an opportunity to make the Rangers lose. Abbott should know better. As a lawyer, state supreme court justice, attorney general, and governor he should understand that judges are not legislators. Court cases are not opportunities to change policy. If you want activist judges that legislate from the bench, consider running for the legislature where laws are made.
