A cold tasty beverage
That has been on my mind all day. What I have to drink comes out of a windmill and dumps into a basin with green stuff and insects floating around. To avoid getting sick I sip through a filter that gives me a trickle of potable water if I suck real hard. My mouth is constantly dry
BearClaw, She-Ra, and I want to get to Pie Town tomorrow night before the restaurants close. That’s about all the commerce there is in Pie Town, but that’s enough to motivate us. There is also the Toaster House where a lot of hikers stay when in town, so it will be a nice reunion
In the morning, we saw Peru. This was the second time I saw her on trail hiking the opposite direction.
We had some big climbs, early morning heat, afternoon clouds and cold, and a lot of miles on forest roads. We ended up climbing Manges Mountain to go to the lookout tower, but we passed going to the tower because it is a hard scramble to get there. We camped close by, and someone left a gallon of fresh water for hikers; HeHo! I gladly helped myself to some.
BearClaw has a foot injury and tomorrow is planning to get a ride to a clinic. When I get to Pie Town, I’ll raise a glass of cold tasty beverage in best wishes for her.
