MT TAYLOR, NM

I got back on the trail after taking the shuttle to the ranger station. It was a windy day as Dan and BrightLight passed me by on the way to Mt Taylor. A little while later I ran into Moondancer from Boise, Idaho and I passed him by. As I got closer to the Mt Taylor trailhead the winds kicked up and the skies got darker. While there were still good places to pitch a tent in the trees I setup camp early at 2:30 pm after about 10 miles. That works in fine with my plan to slow down. I was comfy in my tent as the storm rolled in

What I didn’t plan on was some kind of cramp on my left leg. It felt a little different than before, but kinda went away after a couple hours of hiking. I didn’t expect it after all the rest I had in Grants

Tomorrow I will try to get up to the summit for sunrise
