GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, MT
I started off with HoJo and Sandman on another cool and misty day. We climbed up Pitamaken Pass across some snow fields. On the way down I got a picture of a friendly squirrel. When I got to the bottom I missed a turn somewhere and ended up at the Two Medicine entrance instead of the campground. The friendly person in the booth told me the camp was 3 miles up the road. I somehow had the composure to calmly ask for details and trudge on. I showed up at the Camp Store with everyone sitting there wondering where I was. We had some beer and elk sausage and went to the camp. We were joined by a couple from Michigan, 3 guys from Florida, 5 others, and a park ranger who invited us to a campfire talk. A few of us went to the talk by ranger Pat Hagen and it was very entertaining. We had a big party around the campfire back at camp with the 3 liters of wine Kramers bought and all the food we were sharing. We were joined by a southbound hiker who opened a beer bottle by banging the cap against the fire ring, causing it to spew foam. He tried to suck down the foam and it came out his nose. I gave him the trail name SnotFroth.
