South of EAST GLACIER, MT

HoJo and I had some nice deep fried french toast at the Whistlestop and hit the trail. Initial navigation was strange but we did fine. No big climbs but lots of bugs and mud, requiring headnet and careful stepping. We got to Summit/ Marias Pass at 3:30 and were deciding what to do. The Summit Pass Restaurant sign said it has free wifi and opens at 5:30. As we were sitting there the owner came by and said they open at 4 and have the coldest taps in the state. That made it easy. After a buffalo burger and scotch ale we watered up at the camp and got another 3 miles before setting up camp on a pleasant evening.
