Near BANNOCK PASS
The morning seemed pretty cold. The temperatures have been about 40 degF, which doesn’t seem that cold, but I’m glad I didn’t send home my puffy jacket. It stayed pretty windy all day, but the sun was shining and felt warm. Also, no rain; its the first day I remember in a long time where I arrived at camp with everything dry.
My first priority was water. I got it at the Sacajawea Memorial that was nearby my morning path. There are several historical markers in the area
My view of the contours from the horizon and the maps appeared to be more gentle today, but the first climb was a doozy. Even though it was on road it started really steep and was big. I had some other significant climbs but they became more gentle later.
I am camped only 5 miles from Bannock Pass where I will get a ride tomorrow morning into Leadore from the owner of the Leadore Inn; HeHo. I will get in after the post office closes so I will stay until Monday. My feet could use a break and I would like to catch up on some things
