My quads are really sore from Knapsack Col, but we press on
I hadn’t gone very far when I encountered a magnificent moose. I took pictures and video and let it forage for about 20 min. Quite a scene!
Right when I resumed I missed a turn and had to backtrack. It probably cost me 30 min.
I had 3 climbs to start and another one to a lunch spot. I saw lots of people out, including horses and llamas.
The weather was good, but a bit warm. My thermometer showed 90 degF at one point. I encountered more climbs than expected and the trail was pretty rough. I got really tired and pulled into a campsite a few miles short of my destination.
My water filter worked acceptably until I got to camp. It filled one liter and then got really plugged on the second one. I will have to conserve and get some glacier water tomorrow.
