Had an encounter with a mommy cow and her calf. The calf ran up to me like it wanted to play. I don’t think mommy liked that. I stomped my hiking pole on the ground and the calf ran over to mommy. Mommy stared at me about 20 feet ahead on the trail. The calf then looked like he wanted to come back and play, but mommy mooed and they both ran off. She had horns and I didn’t want to be mauled
Thus far, my wildlife sightings have been snake (not rattler), horned toad, lizzards, and rabbits
Some hard hiking kinda surprised me. It seemed like another warm day
Found Radar’s water stash near Burro Peak trailhead. HeHo! I had not yet had to filter water
Got to top of Burro Peak for dinner and camp. Called John to setup tentative ride into town next day.
