On the way to PIE TOWN, NM

She-Ra made some pretty strong coffee. I am not a coffee drinker, but something warm with some sugary powder mixed in made it palatable.

It also gave me a boost in my step as I got going on mostly flat forest service road terrain.

After lunch, it was tough keeping up. Both She-Ra and BearClaw are fast hikers. At one point we took an alternate route to save 2 miles. I thought She-Ra went way ahead of me, but she stopped at a turn. Neither of us saw each other. BearClaw was following me and asked if I saw She-Ra. I said she is way ahead, so we kept going. Eventually BearClaw deduced we had missed a turn. Down the hill came 2 hunters on an ATV. They said She-Ra was mile back at the turn. We eventually got back there and saw She-Ra, negating our 2 mile savings.

We made camp after a tough climb. I am tired and humbled. Hopefully we’ll be in Pie Town in 2 days
