BOB MARSHALL WILDERNESS, MT

From our nice camp spot up on the mountain we had a climb, then a descent, and the rest of the day was pretty easy hiking. We were mostly in forest but occasionally popped out to see some nice views. At times navigation was a bit vexing. On the approach to Beaver Lake we wanted to stay on the official trail instead of the sketchy shortcut on the Ley map. Somehow we missed a turn and ended up on the shortcut, which became a swampy bushwhack halfway through. We made it to camp after some easy terrain next to Strawberry Creek. As we settled in, IceMan came by and joined us.
