MY LAKE, MT
Yes, our camping spot is called My Lake.
We got here by departing Dean Lake on a brisk morning. A big climb warmed us up for a big downhill. We went along Spotted Bear river most of the day, which meant stream crossings and another day of soaked shoes, socks, and feet.
We stopped for lunch at the Pyramid camp area which had a shack and a privy. It was a great spot.
Along the way we met a 5 member crew of the Montana Conservation Core doing some nice trail work. We also met HeyBear who is hiking from Helena to Canada.
We stopped at Spotted Bear Pass for dinner and to rejoin to official CDT route. We climbed up to My Lake for one of the nicest camping spots of the hike. We also had a problem deer roaming around that wouldn’t leave us alone, and later brought a friend. I hope they don’t eat our shirts.
