CUBA, NM
After a night of rain I awoke to a clear and sunny morning. Three hours later I was climbing mountains in mud, rain, snow, and hail. The storm activity was all day long, and the hardest part was the mud. I was sliding all over the place and my shoes felt like I had ankle weights on. The last two days were some serious work.
I think I had 26 miles to go today, and was surprised to get into Cuba at 5 pm. There is a big backlog of hikers here due to storm activity. It was great to see them, and I was well fed tonight. Another cool thing besides a warm shower and soft bed is the I got my MontBell down jacket.
I don’t know my plans yet, but I will figure it out in the next few days
