CHAIN OF CRATERS
It was a day of trail magic
After a rainy night, I was treated by the great people at the High Country Alpaca Ranch to a big breakfast burrito. I said goodbye to them, the dogs, and the alpacas and started my 22 mile road walk down 117.
I kept a good 3 mile an hour pace on flat terrain for about 16 miles until a car pulled over. Karen and Tim from Wisconsin were traveling around and gave me a ride the last 6 miles. HeHo!
That got me to the Chain of Craters trail at 2 pm and I went about 5 miles to my destination, a windmill. By 5:30 pm I had my tent up and dinner consumed.
That lets me have an easy day so that tomorrow I can water up from the windmill and continue on through the Chain of Craters.
