SEARLE PASS, CO

I was up at 4 and had the breakfast I put in the fridge. I got to the bus stop and it let me off at Tiger Run about 6. I was back on trail.

I had a climb to start with. I felt kind of tired and stiff, which surprised me after a lengthy town stay. The climb wasn’t too bad but I felt like I was going slow

Navigation is easy because the CDT joins the Colorado Trail here, which is well maintained

Colorado seems to be the least remote state on the CDT. I see lots of people, road, and housing on trail and hear car traffic a lot. These trails get a lot of use. Going south it is going to get more remote

The weather was great all day.

I didn’t get as far as I wanted and was up on Searle Pass when I decided I was tired and started looking for a camping spot. The wind was picking up so I wanted someplace that would shield me. I found a very nice spot near a stream and cowboy camped.
