SAN ISABEL NATIONAL FOREST, CO
It was cold this morning but the weather was great all day. I made a bunch of climbs and the scenery is pretty impressive all around. The tread was is good condition until I passed over the last peak, where it got a bit thin and hard to follow
Along the way there was the Chalk River and Alpine Tunnel. There was a railroad that went through here and there were apparently several disasters that occurred. Looking at the mass of rock I saw it was hard to imagine people hand digging a train tunnel through there
My Platypus is now attached to my pack with a shoestring and buckle since my holster clip broke. It seems to be working pretty well
My major pain right now is my right shoulder blade. I don’t know what is going on, but its rather bothersome
I made my planned camping spot where there is water and 2 old abandoned cabins. I have 12 miles to Monarch Pass tomorrow to hitch into Salida
