Today is a lazy day at home trying to make preparations.

One of my favorite podcasts is “TheTrail Show”. They had been requesting people to submit music to them to play during breaks in the show. I whipped up a little ditty called “Back on the Trail” which originated in my head about 20 years ago when I hiked the Pasayten Wilderness in bad hiking boots, turning my feet into bloody stumps.

After reading books, blogs, and viewing videos about lightening the pack weight, and meticulously weighing my contents, I discovered that with all food and water included I would start out carrying 46 pounds. Heck! Alarmed, I looked for further weight savings.

It started with another trip to REI to departed with my beloved but ripped Valhalla pack to get a Deuter model that is at least a pound lighter.

The day ended with Good Friday mass at St Mary our Lady of the Lake in Lago Vista. I got to perform “Via Dolorosa”, and I think it was well received.
