SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS, CO Waking up to another frosty morning, my first turn turned out to be wrong. I followed a reasonably well groomed trail downhill, missing the very faint and not easily detected CDT going off in a different direction. I discovered it reasonably quickly with my GPS, but still had to backtrack back up the hill I just descended. Heck! The morning was clear and dry, which was very welcome. Not quite so welcome were big climbs; of course, its the CDT! There must be big climbs on the CDT. After lunch things got very cloudy and it…
