It rained last night and into the morning, so I slept in a bit. It didn’t take long to get soaked from thighs to toes once on the trail.
It was a real misty morning, which made for some cool scenery. Eventually it cleared up and was really nice, then I was in a very intense hail storm.
Then the PUDs (pointless ups and downs). I had a big climb that I kinda liked because there was some cool stuff to see. Then the trail went up, down, up, down, etc along a ridge line. The climbs were steep and navigation was challenging. It got really old. Along came a very intense wind which lasted for a couple hours and made hiking really tough. The good part is that it dried everything up.
I made it past the PUDs at about 9:30 and found just about the only decent camp site anywhere. Tomorrow I have about 9 miles of easy downhill to get a ride into Lima. I earned a town day today!
