ROCK SPRING, ID
Feeling much better after a lot of sleep; couldn’t feel much worse than yesterday. Had a big breakfast at Jan’s with Pappichulo and then had Mike from the hotel drive me out to the trailhead. It was nice weather and easy hiking for 6 miles. I came to a CDT information kiosk and noticed I had AT&T service, so I took an extended lunch break resting against kiosk listening to an entire Pirate game (they won, HeHo).
I had some climbs after that, but I took it easy given I was sick the prior day. I got to Rock Spring and setup camp. The spring didn’t have a lot of water, but my new FirstNeed XLE filter made it really easy to get.
I saw a few bear boxes today, so I will be on the alert to look for them and avoid attracting bear visits.
