BOB MARSHALL WILDERNESS, MT

It was a tough day

It began with my Anker battery unable to charge my cell phone. It was supposed to have 2 full charges, but only did one. That left my cell phone battery on life support, meaning GPS navigation and photos needed to be curtailed. Turns out HoJo had a similar problem with his solar charger, so we were somewhat impaired

The morning was pretty easy except for soaking our feet for the 8th day in a row. We figure this helps the Pirates win, but only for these 10 days. The bugs continue to be a pestilence every time we sit down, but we have headnets and Deet.

At lunch I took a refreshing plunge in the Dearborn river. HeHo!

The next 11 miles were tough. It seemed the climbs never ended. Some of them had non-sensical grades. On the plus side, the views after the climbs were amazing. Water disappeared so we had to push on hiking late to get to the next water source. We found our lake and settled in for dinner and bed

Day 8 is done. The next days are shorter hikes, and we are really ready for town
