North of GHOST RANCH, NM

Today presented lots of navigational challenges. Markers and cairns are very sparse. The trail is mostly on forest road, but there are several intersections and turns. My best indicator that I am off course is the absence of footsteps.

My phone battery is dwindling and my solar charger is hit or miss. I am hoping the good work I did with the Central Texas Trailtamers and CDTC north of here will make navigation much easier so I don’t have to rely on my iphone to provide GPS help

I found a great camping spot and did a lot of stretching of my achilles, which now feels much better. My achilles has been painful and slows me down, so I hope I can keep it loose and pain free
